Sheryl knows that everyone's economic and life situation is unique. As a first-generation American who emigrated from the Philippines in 1988, she understand that owning a home does not necessarily end in having the pride of ownership. She believes that where you live is part of a larger community, and that taking care of your house or condo contributes to a strong neighborhood. She is also active in a variety of civic and cultural organizations including Alaska Federation of Filipino Americans, Inc. and the Filipino Community of Anchorage, Alaska organization. She is fluent in Tagalog for those more comfortable conversing in their native language.
